Consultant Urologist NHS Fife / Pertemps Clinical Lead in Urology / NHS England & NHS Scotland Responsible Officer & Higher level Appraiser
Mr Tom Watcyn Jones is an experienced Consultant Urologist with specialist expertise in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) surgery including Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques (MIST), Endourology, General urology, and the diagnosis of prostate cancer. He works clinically in NHS Fife carrying out elective and emergency responsibilities. In the independent sector, Tom is the Clinical Lead for Urology at Pertemps and has a track record of delivering successful in sourcing projects across NHS England. Throughout his career, he has combined high-quality clinical practice with senior leadership roles across the NHS, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
Tom serves as a Responsible Officer for both NHS England and NHS Scotland, and is Medical Director of a number of GMC Designated Bodies. In these roles he has vast experience in providing strategic clinical leadership, overseeing professional standards, and supporting medical governance at organisational level.
Tom has also established and developed numerous urological services across multiple NHS trusts in England and Scotland, which he is proud to say are all well integrated into regular daily practise. Tom sits on the Faculty for BAUS FRCS Viva course, as well as the Royal College of Surgery Core Urology Training Modules.
